As someone who enjoys the outdoors—and wears the trendiest but most uncomfortable shoes ever—ankle and foot pain became something I tolerated. I thought Bengay would improve the soreness, but it became clear that the pain was never going away.
When I couldn’t bear the pain anymore (and fashion had to take a step back), I got scared (to say the least). But a visit to the doctor made it all go away—not instantly, but the agony wore off with the right treatment.
Don’t be like me. It’s never okay to tolerate aches every time you walk. Check out our most trusted ankle doctors in Charlotte, who can help you move freely once and for all!

The highly qualified Dr. Scott Basinger makes him one of our most trusted ankle doctors in Charlotte. He’s a podiatrist, so you’re sure he specializes in diagnosing and treating ankle and foot conditions.
He’s licensed to practice in North Carolina and continues his training by taking medical education courses and seminars. His dedication to staying sharp is one of our favorite things, as he continues to build and improve his knowledge on advanced procedures.
As far as his specialization goes, it’s impressively vast. He treats sprains, arthritis, and diabetes-related conditions, and sports injuries. And based on our client surveys, he knows how to correctly diagnose and treat his patients.
The overall care we’ve seen has been top-notch, as he remains personable, helpful, and communicative. The only hiccup is the slightly long wait at the clinic.
On a positive note, Dr. Basinger accepts various insurance plans, but it would still be wise to confirm with the clinic to see if your coverage is accepted.

Address: 8310 Medical Plaza Drive, Suite E
Contact: (704) 548-0222
Hours: Monday – Friday: 8 am – 4:30 pm
The compassionate care provided by Dr. Kinjal Patel completely won us over. She’s a podiatrist in Charlotte who knows how to provide care a cut above the rest, which is most likely why she’s earned plenty of praise from previous patients.
She’s board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM), and practices in two clinics in Charlotte: University and Harrisburg. We particularly like how accessible she is, although waiting time and customer service vary per the clinic.
Dr. Patel’s bedside manner remains the same: compassionate, kind, and professional. We were glad to hear nothing but compliments from her patients, as she managed to diagnose and treat their ankle conditions and provided excellent care throughout.
Service-wise, she’s an ankle doctor you can go to for any condition, from pediatric to elderly care—accessible all around. Plus, she knows how to explain the diagnosis in words non-doctors can understand, which we appreciate a lot.
While her specialty mainly lies in foot-related issues, she’s still highly qualified in ankle problems, from diabetic-related conditions to sports medicine.

3. Dr. Kevin Molan – Carmel Foot Specialists

Address: 717 S Torrence St
Contact: (704) 334-8682
Hours: By appointment
When it comes to experience, Dr. Kevin Molan has got it all covered. He’s been a foot and ankle doctor for over three decades, and together with his fellow doctors, formed Carmel Foot Specialists in 1994.
His track record is impressive, having served as vice-president of the North Carolina Foot and Ankle Surgery, where he continues to be an active member. In addition, his specialization varies, from general to more complex ankle conditions.
To give you an idea, he diagnoses and treats ankle wounds, diabetic-related conditions, trauma, sports-related problems, as well as providing biomechanical and orthotic services for patients who need to correct alignments.
From what we’ve observed, Dr. Molan has provided excellent care. He received lots of compliments from his patients for showing genuine care and for being easy to talk with, which is helpful when ankle pain starts to act up.
While the overall care at the clinic has been fantastic, there were times when patients had to wait over an hour to be seen by the doctor. It’s not a regular occurrence, thankfully.
More than willing to answer questions
“I have been going to Dr. Kevin Molan for about two years and love both him and his office. The office is efficient and friendly and work together as a well coordinated team. Dr. Molan is both knowledgeable and more than willing to answer questions and explain what is happening or needs to happen. I have been very pleased with the treatment I have received by him and his staff. I highly recommend the office.”

4. Dr. Christopher Fuesy – Eastover Foot & Ankle

Address: 2607 E 7th St, Suite 100
Contact: (704) 841- 4000
Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 8 am – 5 pm
- Friday: 8 am – 2 pm
Dr. Christopher Fuesy is a podiatrist who has been practicing at Eastover Foot & Ankle since 1994. His over 30 years of experience made a strong impression, but it’s primarily due to the successful ankle treatments we’ve seen.
During our client surveys, we were pleased to learn that he assesses the full situation first and doesn’t jump straight to surgery if it isn’t absolutely needed. He goes for non-invasive solutions first, but still does surgeries for cases that need them.
Furthermore, he’s a podiatrist to trust when it comes to ankle surgeries, given that it’s one of his primary focuses. All these good things showcase his deep knowledge of ankle (and foot) conditions, from sprains to bone breaks.
It’s just saddening to hear about miscommunication issues at his Charlotte clinic, mainly about billing and appointments. Looking on the bright side, these usually happen when they’re swamped with patients, but the treatments remain unaffected by these issues.
Provides outstanding, empathetic care
“Dr. Fuesy always provides outstanding, empathetic care, and his staff (Norma, Lori, Gabbi and John) always go above and beyond in providing excellent customer service!”
-David Turner, Google Review
