Oakcrest Preparatory Academy Rivergate offers a solution for families navigating strict state school cutoffs when their children miss the entry date by just a few months.
In particular, they feature a Transitional Kindergarten curriculum that combines self-guided Montessori principles with structured learning. This ensures kids stay academically challenged rather than simply repeating preschool.
During a tour of the campus, the staff showed us how they integrate early language development, like sign language and Spanish, with an advanced focus on STEAM.
They even feature built-in developmental therapies and nutritious meals prepared by an on-site chef. Overall, the environment they provide is perfect for getting little ones ready for the next step.
On that note, take note that the school only goes through the transitional year, so parents must eventually transition their children to a standard elementary program.
Also, their premium pricing makes them a luxury option.

My children have had an amazing experience here! The environment is safe and welcoming, and it is clear that the staff takes that responsibility seriously. The teachers are not only caring but invested in each students’ success — they take the time to understand each child and help them grow.
The private preschool education my child is receiving is outstanding! We have loved seeing them make so much progress, and know they will be fully ready for Kindergarten.
Highly recommend this school to any family looking for a safe, supportive, and enriching learning environment!

Seamless transition to kindergarten success
There are so many positive statements I can make about Primrose School of South Charlotte.
But as a parent of (4) education is key. And Primrose’s focus on early education has made our children’s transition to Kindergarten & 1st Grade unbelievable smooth. Our daughter attended Private Kindergarten and was reading on a 2nd grade level when she started public school.
Additionally:
The teachers are great from the nursery to Pre-K!

The Learning Experience provides an all-inclusive academic program that builds critical skills without breaking budgets, making it easy to avoid hidden fees for extra activities.
They use their proprietary learning program, alongside engaging characters, to teach reading, math, and social kindness.
Moreover, they include foreign languages, music classes, and early engineering lessons as part of the baseline tuition. This means families won’t need separate tutoring services for elementary readiness.
We talked to local parents who love their secure mobile application because the staff sends consistent photo updates and daily reports directly to their phones. It’s a fantastic setup for staying connected throughout the day.
On the other hand, they enforce a very strict potty-training rule. Children must be fully trained before entering the classroom.
Plus, their kindergarten program is strictly a full-day commitment with rigid age cutoffs.

Grateful for dedicated teaching staff
My son has attended TLE since he was 3 and we are headed to kindergarten in the fall. The teachers dedication to the children, the curriculum, and the support provided by the administrative staff has made our time at TLE great. Ms. Connie Sherlock, the pre-k teacher is hands down a true gem and I am so thankful my son has her. She demonstrates a true passion for teaching, she loves her students, and they all absolutely adore her. Leaving TLE will be bittersweet but I am grateful for our time here
