In Charlotte, standard makeup typically costs between $60 to $170 per person, while bridal and special event makeup ranges from $80 to $300+, excluding add-ons like lashes, hair, and touch-ups–and can go higher for more premium services.
Keep in mind that how much you’ll pay for a makeup artist really depends on the look you’re going for, the artist’s experience, the occasion, and whether they’re travelling to you.

One thing we really like about Who’s The Fairest is the variety of services they cover–bridal, maternity, Halloween, even male grooming. It’s quite a mix, but Kymm manages to keep everything cohesive and grounded.
So it’s no surprise she’s built such a strong client base, ranging from teens preparing for their deb ball to brides on their big day. Her online reviews also don’t fall short, especially when it comes to her skill and technique.
That said, we also like that she has a portfolio on her website for anyone interested to look through. It’s also helpful that her rates are already listed on her website, along with what’s included and what’s not, making it easier to compare options.
The only hiccup? Kymm has a small team, which can make securing a booking tricky, especially during peak season. The bright side is that they’re usually quite flexible and do their best to squeeze you in.

We also appreciate how collaborative they are, taking detailed notes during the trial session and consistently checking in with clients to ensure the final result aligns with their vision. And for those inspired by her looks, Cali also offers lessons to help clients learn the techniques.
Hence, Cali and her team are a great fit for virtually any occasion, whether it’s a girl’s night out or prom, thanks to their consistency along with their ability to accommodate larger bookings.
The only caveat is that they’re only open from Monday to Friday, which can make booking a bit harder to work around.

What we like about Beauty Asylum Hair + Makeup is a full bridal beauty collective, experienced in both hair and makeup services. This makes them a reliable pick for consistency and scalability, particularly for larger events or group bookings.
They also have a well-established reputation, with over a decade of experience, more than 1,000 weddings services, and features in major publications like The Knot and Martha Stewart Weddings.
Another nice touch is that each staff member has an “About Me” section, complete with their background, availability, and portfolio, making it easier for clients to choose someone they actually like.
To boot, their pricing is transparently listed online, along with individual pricing, packages, bundles, and add-ons, giving clients more flexibility depending on their budget.
Just note that prices change during peak season, and there are minimums–12 services for peak season Saturdays and 6 for weekday weddings, which may not be ideal for smaller bookings.
That said, we found it a bit limiting that clients have to go through an online form first followed by email-only communication.

The girls looked amazing and then for me I was just in awe after Dailyn was done with my hair & makeup. Dailyn made me feel like the prettiest bride on that day and to add the cherry on top she is the sweetest thing ever! True to its name, The Beauty Consultant is a great option for anyone new to makeup who wants an artist that really takes the time to understand their skin and face shape, creating a look that enhances their natural features.
Their specialty? Elevated soft-to-full glam that works beautifully for everything from everyday events to more formal occasions. We like that they have a pretty extensive portfolio, which gives clients a better sense of their style and range.
Plus, we like that they have a trial, letting clients see the look beforehand and tweak anything if needed. Just note that they have minimums–10 services for peak Friday and Saturdays, and 6 for Sundays, while regular weekdays require 4.
When it comes to booking, it’s pretty straightforward with a questionnaire on their website. However, scheduling can be tricky given their popularity, so we suggest booking 8 to 12 months ahead.

I received so many compliments all night long and my makeup and hair stayed without any budge – I truly have never looked and felt better. “I cannot say enough wonderful things about Anne and Grace. I got lucky enough to fill in as a “model” for a makeup training day with Anne, where I fell in love with her and her team. I quickly scheduled my official wedding day trial after where I met Grace, who did my hair.
From the very beginning, they made me feel completely comfortable and confident in my choices. For a girl who knows nothing about makeup or hair, they were beyond patient with me in not only deciding what to do but offering expert advice that helped bring everything together perfectly.
On the wedding day itself, everything went so smoothly and effortlessly. Their calm, friendly presence made the morning stress-free and genuinely enjoyable. Again- Anne & Grace were incredibly patient, especially with touchups (I think Anne had to touch me up 3+ time because of my happy tears) but she did so without a second thought. They also made sure not only me, but my bridesmaids and the moms, looked flawless from start to finish. My bridesmaids all later bought products that were used on their skin that day courtesy of Anne’s recommendations and how happy they were. This speaks volumes. As someone who’s been a bridesmaid, being happy with the brides H&M choices isn’t always the case.
Everyone in that room getting ready with us all said there’s never been a more relaxed wedding morning and that’s all thanks to Anne and Grace & their planning. There were many many comments made by my friends and family on how much they enjoyed talking to TBC team.
