5 Best Gift Shops in Charlotte for Presents That Impress

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Product variety & purpose: We favored shops with something for every occasion and budget, from easy cards to artisan keepsakes. More choice means less gift-hunting panic.

Local Charlotte connection: We looked for North Carolina makers and Queen City flair. Local goods make gifts feel a lot less generic.

Customization & gifting services: We checked for personalization, gift bundles, and corporate options. These extras are lifesavers when you’re short on time.

Storefront accessibility & policies: We reviewed store hours plus return and exchange policies. Longer hours score extra points with last-minute shoppers.

I got invited to a swanky birthday party venue, which meant showing up with a sad little gift bag wasn’t an option. Suddenly, finding the best gift shop in Charlotte felt like part of the dress code.

Charlotte’s got plenty of places for quirky housewarming finds, local keepsakes, and polished presents that don’t scream last-minute panic. The trick is knowing which shops actually have personality behind the pretty displays.

I wanted something memorable enough to hold its own at a fancy bash without going wildly over budget. These Charlotte gift shops made that search a whole lot easier.

How much do items at a gift shop in Charlotte cost?

Gift shopping in Charlotte usually costs $5 to $40 per item at local boutiques. Custom pieces, artisan goods, and premium apparel can cost more.

A simple souvenir run can stay under $25. For a more polished or curated gift, expect to spend around $30 to $60.

Item CategoryTypical Price Range
Small souvenirs and postcards$5–$15
Decor and scented candles$15–$40
Handcrafted art and fine apparel$40–$100+
Quick souvenir gift run$15–$25 total
Curated gift boxes and apparel$30–$60 total

1. Paper Skyscraper

Website

Address: 330 East Blvd

Contact: +1 704-333-7130

Hours: Monday-Friday, 10 AM – 7 PM | Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM | Sunday, noon – 5 PM

Paper Skyscraper has been a Dilworth fixture since 1989, so it knows a thing or two about gifting in Charlotte. The shop packs plenty of personality into its mix of local finds, quirky souvenirs, and polished presents.

I especially like the range because you can grab a small Queen City keepsake or splurge on something nicer for a wedding or housewarming.

Local products and Charlotte-themed gifts are available, making it handy when you want something that actually feels tied to the city.

There are also corporate orders when you’re shopping for a team, client, or event. Plus snack gifts like Queen City Crunch pretzels for visitors who’d rather take home something edible.

The main catch is that Paper Skyscraper doesn’t offer in-house gift wrapping. You can buy wrapping supplies, but otherwise your purchase goes into a shop bag with its signature yellow tissue paper.

Pros

  • Long-standing Dilworth shop since 1989
  • Wide mix of local gifts and Charlotte-themed finds
  • Good range for different budgets and occasions
  • Offers corporate ordering options
  • Carries local snack gifts like Queen City Crunch pretzels

Cons

  • No in-house gift wrapping service

A Longtime Go-To for Unique Gifts

I am a long-time Paper Skyscraper customer dating way back to a prior location.  It has always been my go-to place for unique gifts.  I shop at the Charlotte location monthly after my hair appointment and find items all year long for birthdays, Christmas, and every occasion.  It is no surprise that it is annually named Charlotte’s Best Gift Shop.

Fun Finds for Every Occasion

The most fun gift shop to wander around. They’re always rotating the stock by season so you never know what you’ll find. This is my go-to spot for cute and memorable cards and birthday gifts. They have something for literally everyone. I especially love all their writing utensils, stationery, etc. But their selection of snacks and candy is also fabulous. I’d much rather give my business to this local spot than the big retailers!

2. Sanctuary Imports

Website

Address: 822 Lamar Ave

Contact: +1 980-237-4780

Hours: Monday-Saturday, noon – 7 PM | Sunday, noon – 5 PM

Sanctuary Imports is the kind of place I’d visit when a regular candle or mug feels a little too predictable. Its shelves lean heavily into crystals, essential oils, herbs, tarot decks, and other metaphysical finds.

I like that the price range works for both small tokens and more eye-catching statement pieces.

For something more experiential, the shop connects visitors with tarot readings and sound bath sessions. Those options can make a gift feel far more memorable than another wrapped box.

Being open seven days a week also makes it handy when birthday shopping sneaks up on you.

The catch is the return window is only seven days, which doesn’t leave much room for second thoughts. Packaged items also need to be unopened and in their original packaging for a return.

Pros

  • Strong selection of crystals, oils, herbs, and tarot items
  • Wide price range for small or more elaborate gifts
  • Open seven days a week
  • Offers tarot readings and sound bath sessions
  • Good option for less conventional birthday gifts

Cons

  • Only a seven-day return window
  • Packaged returns must be unopened and in original packaging

Unique Metaphysical Gifts and Decor

Wonderful space filled with phenomenal energies of imported carved wood furnishings & decor, crystals, wands & drums, candles, incense, and unique gift items. Metaphysical classes taught by some of Charlotte’s best intuitives, light workers, and way showers. Right in the middle of Plaza Midwood and the high vibes of our Queen City.

3. MyUnique3D

myunique3d

Website

Address: 4400 Sharon Rd

Contact: +1 803-932-6250 | [email protected]

Hours: Monday-Friday, 11 AM – 6 PM | Saturday, 10 AM – 8 PM | Sunday, noon – 5 PM

MyUnique3D is a fun pick when a regular photo frame feels a bit too predictable. The shop turns two-dimensional photos into three-dimensional crystal keepsakes for weddings, pets, memorials, and other big moments.

I like the range of formats, from display crystals to personalized wine stoppers. Standard production takes about three to seven business days, while express service can cut that to one or two days for an extra fee.

You can also add a two-, three-, or five-year replacement warranty at the physical shop. That extra coverage is handy when you’re gifting something fragile and sentimental.

The catch is that personalized orders can’t be changed or canceled once placed. They’re also non-returnable and non-exchangeable, so you’ll want to double-check every detail before paying.

Pros

  • Creates personalized three-dimensional crystal keepsakes
  • Works well for weddings, pets, memorials, and milestones
  • Offers several crystal formats and wine stoppers
  • Standard turnaround is 3–7 business days
  • Express production is available in 1–2 business days
  • Optional 2-, 3-, or 5-year replacement warranties

Cons

  • Orders can’t be changed or canceled once placed
  • Personalized items are non-returnable and non-exchangeable

A Special Personalized Photo Gift

When I needed to find a special gift for my wife, I recalled how much my family loved the crystal they received for Father’s Day from 3d innovation. Upon returning, the friendly gentleman remembered me and offered exceptional service. He helped me create the perfect photo crystal that left my wife extremely happy! I am grateful for the experience and will surely recommend this shop to friends and family.

Memorable Crystal Keepsake

One of the most memorable gifts you can get someone. The picture was laser-etched into the crystal, and the quality is amazing. The staff is also very knowledgeable and super friendly, which is a nice bonus!  I would recommend this to anyone!

4. Moxie Mercantile

Address: 2008 Commonwealth Ave

Contact: +1 704-877-7879 | [email protected] | [email protected]

Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 11 AM – 6 PM | Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM | Sunday, noon – 4 PM

Moxie Mercantile is the kind of Plaza Midwood shop I’d browse when a generic gift just won’t cut it. Its shelves mix home goods, apparel, vintage finds, and locally minded picks with plenty of personality.

I like that the selection works for both small thank-you gifts and bigger splurges. The woman-owned shop also puts a strong emphasis on independent makers and community-focused brands.

There’s enough variety here to make birthday, housewarming, or just-because shopping feel less like a chore. Some items are even exclusive to the online store, which gives the brand a wider range beyond the shop floor.

The catch is that not everything qualifies for the 14-day return window. Personal-care products, vintage items, and discounted merchandise are all final sale.

Pros

  • Woman-owned Plaza Midwood boutique
  • Strong mix of home goods, apparel, and vintage finds
  • Highlights independent makers and community-minded brands
  • Good range for different occasions and budgets
  • Offers additional online-exclusive products

Cons

  • Some products are only available online
  • Personal-care, vintage, and discounted items are final sale

A Go-To Gift Shop Supporting Local Causes

An absolute gem of a gift shop, no matter which location you choose. It’s my default spot for gift giving. And I love how Moxie supports artists and worthy causes, too. Great staff and gorgeous styling and displays.

Well-Curated Gifts with Helpful Service

Fantastic shop with superlative customer service. If you need a gift that is well-crafted and well-designed, Moxie is the place to go. Their carefully curated selection has something for everyone, and the staff is always so helpful if you need ideas. This place is special!

5. CLT Find

clt-find

Website

Address: 224 E. 7th St

Contact: +1 919-815-7184

Hours: Sunday-Wednesday, 11 AM – 6 PM | Thursday-Friday, 11 AM – 7 PM | Saturday, 10 AM – 8 PM

CLT Find is a handy Uptown stop when you want a gift that actually feels like Charlotte. The women-owned shop brings together work from more than 90 regional artists, makers, and small businesses.

I like the mix of skyline mugs, tote bags, apparel, and art prints because it covers both easy souvenirs and more thoughtful presents. The shop also creates custom gift boxes for corporate events, birthdays, weddings, and other occasions.

A highlight here is the private shopping parties, which add a fun twist if you’d rather browse with friends than tackle gift hunting solo. Saturday hours run until 8:00 PM, which gives weekend shoppers a little more breathing room.

The only catch is that Sunday through Wednesday hours end at 6 PM. That can make after-work shopping a bit tight on those days.

Pros

  • Women-owned Uptown Charlotte shop
  • Features 90+ regional artists and makers
  • Strong selection of Charlotte-themed gifts and souvenirs
  • Offers custom gift boxes for different occasions
  • Hosts private shopping parties
  • Open until 8:00 PM on Saturdays

Cons

  • Closes early Sunday through Wednesday

Custom Gifts for Every Occasion

Local gifts, amazing service I love, love love CLT Find.  They are my go-to for teacher gifts, hostess gifts,  and especially the custom baskets for any loved one.  They were extremely generous to donate to a very worthy cause recently.  Can’t say enough great things about this store and this company!  Shop Local and Support Women!

Charlotte-Themed Gifts and Friendly Service

Very nice gift shop for all things Charlotte. The lady that assisted us today was very nice and pleasant. She helped me find the water station after the confusing floor stickers misled me to her shop. But maybe it was exactly what I needed. When I came back to thank her, I was drawn in by the cool collection. My MIL bought a cool magnet for her fridge. I got a nifty dual hair bow.
