1. Hobby Lobby

Website: https://www.hobbylobby.com/
Address: 8150 Ikea Blvd, Suite 30
Contact: (704) 509-6182
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Hobby Lobby operates as a genuine one-stop creative hub, carrying more than 80,000 items across home decor, seasonal, craft supplies, yarn, and fabric departments.
The fabric and sewing section alone covers a wide spread of textiles, from cotton and linen to fleece and upholstery-weight prints.
Timing a big seasonal haul around the weekly ad is worth doing too, since sales rotate regularly and can knock a decent chunk off the total.
We swung by their store recently to pick up some cotton blend yardage, and the cutting counter moved along quickly even with a bit of a queue.
That said, they’re closed on Sundays, which happens to be the one day off most people actually have free for a big craft project run. If a weekend trip is the plan, that really only leaves Saturday.
A go-to store for fabric and craft supplies
Hobby Lobby has become my go to craft store for yarn, fabric or any craft supplies. The shelves are always full of my favorite yarns even though I would like to see a bigger selection of chenille yarn. I can spend hours in the fabric section looking and planning projects. And, I never miss a chance to search the basket of leftover fabric on the cutting counter. There is always something good in there.

Great fabric selection and deals
Great place to shop for any crafter. They have some of the cutest decorations for the home. This was my go to spot when I used to see I love their selection of fabric and I love that they have great deals on some of their fabrics too. Another find I love is the amount of kids crafts at great prices that they have especially for the holidays. This is a great place for popular holiday decorations and seasonal decorations.

2. Red Tag Fabric Inc

Website: https://redtagfabric.com/
Address: 809 E Arrowood Rd, Suite 300
Contact: (704) 900-5353
Hours:
- Monday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Tuesday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Wednesday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Saturday, 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Red Tag Fabric Inc keeps their focus narrow and specific: printed cotton yardage and panels, sourced heavily from Camelot Fabrics and Springs Creative. This specialization means their racks are packed with the kind of prints quilters go hunting for.
Licensed Disney, Marvel, and Peanuts designs sit alongside scenic, floral, and geometric prints, giving novelty and pop-culture quilters plenty to work with.
Bulk purchases get a real discount too! A 50-yard assortment of prints runs $200, working out to about $4 a yard rather than paying full individual rates.
However, everything here is 100% cotton. If a project calls for heavier upholstery-weight textiles or stretchy apparel knits, this isn’t the shop to cover that need, and a separate supplier will be required.
Huge variety of quality fabrics
I was in Red Tag Fabric today. What a delightful place to shop! Hundreds of choices and just about any subject you are looking for! The sales clerk was so helpful and knowledgeable. The prices are great and so many fabrics to choose from. Fabric has a great “feel” to it, not flimsy and limp. Today’s project fabrics are all about chocolate and treats. I will definitely be going back when this project is finished!

A quilter’s paradise for fabric
This is THE fabric store. I was amazed at the selection and quality It’s a quilter’s paradise. They are just about the fabric. Don’t miss out on the remnant bin where fabrics are sold by the pound. They’ve been in business for years online and now have a store front. I highly recommend!

3. Stash Charlotte

Website: https://stashcharlotte.com/
Address: 1600 E Woodlawn Rd, Suite 300
Contact: (704) 733-9053
Hours: Thursday-Monday, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Stash Charlotte curates a selection on Woodlawn, stocking designer fabric lines like Ruby Star Society, Moda, Cloud9, and Rifle Paper Co. Garment-ready textiles like double gauze, washed linen, single jersey, and denim round out the apparel side.
Their in-store 36-inch pattern printer is a genuine time-saver; send over a digital PDF pattern and skip taping dozens of pages together by hand. Fabric is really just one part of the picture too, since they also carry yarn, needlework, sashiko, and embroidery kits.
We appreciate that their sewing classes are practical for anyone wanting to build skills alongside their fabric stash.
On the other hand, the shop only opens Thursday through Monday, and just for a short 11 AM to 4 PM window each day.
Beautiful fabrics, yarns, and helpful staff
This is a great yarn and fabric shop with beautiful yarns and fabrics in a variety of price ranges. I went in today for some help with a mistake I made on a sweater and Lisa was so kind to help me figure it out and fix it in no time. This place has a great vibe and i recommend it 100%.

Unique fabrics and a welcoming atmosphere
Fabulous place, full of good, positive energy. I’m a shy, quiet person, but by the time I left, it felt like I had visited old friends. Staff are genuinely friendly, happy and helpful, without being intrusive. The fabric and yarn collection is exquisitely unique and lovely. I hope they start giving knitting classes monthly – that would make this store a 10 star place! 🙂

Address: 8500-G Pineville-Matthews Rd
Contact: (704) 341-8500
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Midas Fabric & Blinds has been in the business since 1971. The showroom carries hundreds of upholstery and drapery bolts, alongside a full window treatment and blinds selection for anyone redoing a whole room rather than a single project.
Budget-conscious shoppers can dig through their $8-per-yard remnant tables at either location for smaller projects. They offer savings on real designer fabric rather than clearance leftovers.
Our close friend had her dining chairs measured and reupholstered here last spring, and the finished craftsmanship looked genuinely professional.
Just a heads up: they’re closed on Sundays and Mondays, so a spontaneous weekend visit only really works on Saturday.
Excellent upholstery work and fabric guidance
After much research, I chose Midas Fabrics here in Charlotte, NC to recover three chairs and could not be happier with the results! Owner Andrea Cronson was extremely helpful, responsive and attentive to every detail and Midas Fabrics’ upholsterer did an exceptional job….Zebra fabric is not an easy pattern to line up! I highly recommend Midas Fabrics for all your fabric needs, you will not be disappointed!

Helpful staff and a wide fabric selection
A wide selection of fabrics. Staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable about which fabrics to use for our chairs. And, their fashion sense made our choices so much easier. They even allowed us to take samples home. Their upholsters are absolutely top notch. My wife was grinning from ear to ear when she saw her mother’s old chairs brought back to better than new. I can’t say enough good things about them. From the store staff and the artists in the shop, to the delivery service drivers, these are truly fine people and caring professionals. I recommend them highly.

Robyn’s Fabrics & Custom Design Interiors operates as both a fabric store and a working design studio. The browsing experience here is paired with actual design expertise rather than just racks of bolts.
Their hundreds of in-stock fabrics sit alongside sample books covering thousands more decorative options for curtains and bedding.
Moreover, the team handles full furniture reupholstery and custom window treatment fabrication from the initial idea through to the finished install. This kind of one-stop setup means a whole-room refresh doesn’t require juggling different suppliers.
We love that their design consultations can also happen either in-store or right in your own home.
Just be aware that the entire inventory is built around home interiors specifically. Quilting cottons, apparel fabric, and general craft supplies aren’t part of the selection here.
Expert help choosing coordinating fabrics
Fantastic customer service! Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Wide variety of fabrics! I can’t say enough great things about Robyn’s Fabrics! KC helped me select a fabric for a chair and ottoman redo that met my needs as well as helping to find coordinating fabrics for accent pillows. She went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my selections. Robyn’s also has a top notch upholsterer and seamstress who create works of art with fabric. Highly recommend!

A one-stop shop for fabric and custom design
Robyn’s Fabrics & Custom Design Interiors is amazing. I’m not design savvy at all, but their team made the entire process easy and stress free. They walked me through fabric choices, custom window treatments, and everything in between with so much patience and expertise. With their beautiful selection, on-site workroom, and professional installation, it truly felt like a one-stop shop. I couldn’t be happier with the results. Highly recommend!
