Experience: Proper massage requires techniques that will target what the client needs, whether for relaxation or injuries, which can only be done with the right training.

Range of Services: Clients will have various needs, so offering different massage types can accommodate more people in Charlotte.

Ambience: A massage place must be calm, comfortable, and clean for the client to have a relaxing time.

As someone who is always in front of a screen, slouching while typing for hours, my body constantly feels stiff and tense. Bad posture is what I’m trying to get rid of, but it’s not like I can do so in an instant.

On my free days, I prefer getting a massage. It brings relief, releases the tension in my muscles, and gives me a boost of relaxation for the whole week!

I will always recommend a good massage. So, if you’re looking for one, here are our favorite massage spots in Charlotte—ones my team and I handpicked for complete relaxation that your body will thank you for!

What is the cost of a massage in Charlotte?

Massages in Charlotte generally cost between $50 and $130, depending on the type of massage, duration, and location. Budget spots and shorter sessions will typically cost less, starting at around $50.

Mood House doesn’t play when it comes to relaxation. They have two locations in Charlotte: Dilworth and Oakhurst, which are both open seven days a week.

Once you set foot in their massage place, you’ll be greeted by a clean, minimalist, and calm environment—a complete relaxing mood, in our opinion. They’re also open to memberships, but are available to non-members.

Looking at their massage services, they’ve got it all covered, from their signature massage for de-stressing to prenatal massage to alleviate pain. Sadly, couples will have to book individual appointments since they don’t have a big enough room for them.

On the bright side, they’re a massage and sauna place in one. Their infrared sauna is one of the main reasons we keep going back because it provides deep relaxation, but it’s on a first-come, first-served basis—appointments aren’t guaranteed.

With loads of massage therapists, booking is easy as pie here, whether for individual or group appointments. Even non-members won’t find it hard to get a slot!

Pros

  • Has 2 Charlotte locations
  • Clean and calm environment
  • Has an on-site infrared sauna
  • Easy to book; lots of slots available

Cons

  • No couples massages
  • Sauna bookings aren’t always secured

Made my birthday so special with their professionalism and hospitality

“They made my Birthday so special with their professionalism and hospitality. The vibes were amazing and staff great. Shout out to my massage therapist, Ariana- she had me falling asleep because I was so relaxed. Aromatherapy scents were so unique and delightful. Mary Beth at the front desk welcomed me with warmth and fun conversation. Will definitely be returning and considering a monthly membership!”

An oasis of calm

“This might have been the best massage I have ever had. This place is lovely. It is an oasis of calm tucked away in a small strip mall in Dilworth. It is quiet, but not like a library quiet. It is clean and smells good. Everyone is so nice here, too! I didn’t feel rushed and I felt understood. I can’t wait to come back!”

If your body’s craving for traditional Thai massage in Charlotte, RAK’SA Thai Herbal Spa is a place you have to try. They have a master massage therapist who graduated from Watpo, a Thai massage and traditional medical school in Bangkok.

The healing and therapeutic experience we’ve received here is as good as an authentic Thai massage, which you can receive through their vast services. You see, they offer table top Thai, reflexology, and herbal healing, as well as hot lava stones and cupping.

Moreover, they elevate the experience by providing skin hydration and exfoliation services. An all-in-one package, if you ask us.

It’s even more helpful for the body that they use organic and traditional herbal medicine during treatments. Some were purchased straight from Thailand, so you’re sure you’re getting an authentic experience.

Booking for new clients isn’t the quickest, though, since you cannot do so online, which is understandable since they don’t accept walk-ins. There are plenty of slots for existing clients, anyway.

Pros

  • Traditional Thai massage place
  • Offers massage and exfoliation services
  • Some products used are authentic from Thailand
  • Highly qualified massage therapists

Cons

  • No walk-ins allowed
  • No online booking for new clients

Loved my experience

“LOVED MY EXPERIENCE HERE!!! Olive was so sweet and took very great care of me. I have been to Thailand so I’d like to think I’m somewhat familiar with an authentic Thai spa and this felt just like that. The decor in the rooms are beautiful and the whole vibe to the place was excellent. I will definitely come back as I haven’t felt this relaxed in such a long time. Thank you olive for such a wonderful experience❤️”

We thoroughly enjoyed Sauna House for the complete relaxation they provide. They’re a Nordic spa in Charlotte, where you‘ll experience the hot, cold, and rest cycle without traveling far.

Of course, they offer massage therapy, although it’s the only option. That’s alright, since their therapists have provided excellent massages that target exactly what you need.

As an example, they focus on integrative massage therapy, which means whole bodywork and the combination of several techniques. They tailor the service to pinpoint knots, and we can confidently say that they know how to zero in on muscle tension.

Plus, you can book their 60-minute massage therapy along with a bathhouse visit! It’s the complete unwinding session in Charlotte, to tell you the truth, both for individuals and couples.

Finding an appointment slot is easy peasy, but there are limited spots for couples massages. Budget-wise, they’re quite fair for the experience you’re getting: bathhouse and massage in one!

Pros

  • Nordic spa and massage
  • Offers integrative massage therapy
  • Easy to book; plenty of slots
  • Ideal for a complete unwinding experience

Cons

  • Couples massages have limited spots
  • Only one massage therapy option

The first time I’ve felt real tension and trauma release during a massage

“I didn’t expect such an emotional and empowering experience by this on a whim booking, but this place is what you need if you’re in a bad mental place (burnout, trauma, isolation, all the things). The first time I’ve felt real tension and trauma release during the massage, and when left with no phone, just thoughts, in the sauna house. You don’t need a podcast, or a self help book, or information overload. You need RELEASE. I cried for the first time in over a year. Thank you to massage therapist Shondolyn for the best massage I’ve felt yet. I will be back!”

-Grace Tully, Google Review

Has a really good feel for the areas that need attention

“Iva is the best! She’s very comprehensive, has a really good feel for the areas that need attention, but also checks in often to see how you’re handling the pressure. I’m a physical therapist myself and my body takes a beating at times, so her massage worked wonders. I trust her with my own patients!”

-Tim O’Connor, Google Review

One of the best I’ve ever had

“I’ve had a LOT of massages, so don’t take it lightly when I say that Iva was one of the best I’ve ever had. She has a fantastic touch, and moves very slowly, getting every spot that needs work. If I lived in this area, she’d be my regular massage therapist. Seriously amazing.”

But that’s not all they offer. Their sports massage therapies target all sorts of issues, as they include cupping for healing and inflammation. Plus, they’re experienced in customized pregnancy massages to reduce discomfort.

They work strictly on an appointment basis, however, so it’s a good idea to book online. We do want to note that not all massage therapists are easy to book, but they have several on the team, regardless.

It doesn’t really matter who you book since we’ve only seen positive experiences from the clients we surveyed. They noted the therapists’ in-depth knowledge, which resulted in a fantastic feeling after the massage.

When it comes to prices, they’re surprisingly reasonable for the level of service they provide. A standard 30-minute sports massage costs only $50.

Pros

  • Specializes in sports massage
  • Offers cupping and pregnancy massage
  • Targets all sorts of active lifestyle issues
  • Competitive rates

Cons

  • Appointment-only basis

“This was my first massage ever and Stephen was very kind and attentive. He took the time to really dive into my neck and back, areas that I expressed have been tight. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Stephen.”
